WatchPat ONE — Health Canada-Approved Home Sleep Test.

Purchase the WatchPat ONE Home Sleep Test and conveniently get tested for sleep apnea in the comfort of your own home in Ontario. The WatchPAT ONE is a disposable, single-use home sleep study device designed for comfort, accuracy, and convenience. This Health Canada-approved test uses advanced Peripheral Arterial Tone (PAT®) technology to measure key sleep indicators, including oxygen saturation, heart rate, body position, snoring, and sleep stages.

Unlike traditional in-lab studies, the WatchPAT ONE allows you to complete your test in just one night (with optional multi-night testing available). Data is automatically transmitted through the WatchPAT app on iOS or Android for secure analysis.

Validated in peer-reviewed studies with accuracy rates of up to 95% compared to polysomnography (PSG), the WatchPAT ONE is one of the most trusted solutions for at-home sleep testing worldwide.

At Home Sleep Test for Research

Working with Brendan has been great. We started collaborating with Canadian CPAP Equipment for a sleep study at Western University. The experience of using the home sleep apnea test for research purposes was the first for the both of us, and the process has been seamless. The turnaround was fast and results were easy to interpret. Participant confidentiality was our top priority, and together, we found effective solutions to ensure everything was handled ethically. I highly recommend Canadian CPAP Equipment for their professionalism and reliability.

Great for Anxious Sleepers

There's no way I would sleep in a sleep lab... anywhere I go that's not my normal routine I can't sleep the first night. At home I was still a bit anxious given it's a medical test but I did manage to sleep enough to get some data interpreted. Thanks for offering this service. Now OHIP in Ontario just needs to get on board with this test so Ontario residents can be covered if sleep apnea is diagnosed. Results were emailed in a timely fashion and customer service is great with any questions you might have.

Excellent Product

I would recommend the home sleep apnea test for anyone concerned about their sleep. It was easy to use, the instructions easy to follow, and it gave my family doctor and specialist the information we needed to act. My appointment for a lab sleep study is a year away, so this take home version is a real help. I appreciated the consultation with Canadian CPAP equipment, who helped me get started on improving my sleep, protecting my health, and making my life better. I wish I had done this two years ago. Highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in the WatchPAT ONE kit?

A single-use wrist unit, finger probe, chest sensor, one AAA battery, and quick-start instructions. You’ll also use the free WatchPAT mobile app (iOS/Android) on your own phone.

Is WatchPAT ONE single-use? Do you offer multi-night options?

Yes—WatchPAT ONE is single-use. We also offer two- and three-night options; these include extra sensor sets so your physician can evaluate multiple nights if needed.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to order this test?

No referral is required. Your results are reviewed by a licensed physician, and you can book an optional virtual consultation if therapy is recommended.

How accurate is WatchPAT ONE compared with an in-lab polysomnography (PSG)?

It’s clinically validated with high agreement (up to ~95% correlation) vs. PSG in appropriate adults. PAT® technology and True Sleep Time (TST) improve severity scoring by reducing time-awake inflation.

— Evidence: Frontiers review on WatchPAT (2023).

Does WatchPAT ONE detect central sleep apnea as well as obstructive sleep apnea?

It reports indices that help differentiate obstructive vs. central events (e.g., AHIc). Final diagnosis is made by the reviewing physician; suspected complex cases may require an in-lab study.

Study: Pillar et al., multicenter CSA validation.

Who should not use WatchPAT ONE (and when is an in-lab study recommended)?

It’s intended for adults. An in-lab study is generally preferred for pediatrics or when significant comorbidities are present (e.g., advanced COPD, heart failure, neuromuscular disease, post-stroke, chronic opioid use, suspected central/complex sleep apnea).

What phone/app and OS versions are required?

An iOS or Android smartphone with Bluetooth and a stable internet connection overnight. Install the WatchPAT app, keep your phone plugged in and within range.

Do I need Wi-Fi, or can I upload results over cellular? What if the connection drops?

Wi-Fi or reliable cellular data both work. Keep the app open and your phone nearby; if connectivity pauses, the app resumes upload when the connection returns. We’ll help if anything fails.

Can gel/acrylic nails, cold hands, or circulation issues affect readings?

Yes—opaque gels/acrylics and very cold fingers can affect the oximeter. If possible, remove dark polish/gel, warm your hands, and use the non-dominant hand (pinky often fits best).

How long until my results are ready, and who reviews them?

Typically a few days to about one week after your test. A licensed respirologist/sleep physician interprets the data and issues a formal report.

What happens if my test is inconclusive or fails—do you offer a re-test?

It’s uncommon, but it can happen (poor sensor contact, short sleep window). Contact us—we offer re-test options, and multi-night studies reduce the chance of inconclusive results.

Is this test covered by private insurance or ADP/OHIP in Ontario?

ADP/OHIP do not fund Level-3 home tests. Some private insurers may reimburse HSAT or equipment; check your plan. We provide an itemized receipt and physician report.

How is my data kept private and secure?

Data transmit from the app via encrypted channels to secure servers. Access is restricted to clinical reviewers and our care team, and we follow PIPEDA/privacy best practices.

How quickly do you ship across Canada? Is expedited shipping available?

We ship Canada-wide with tracking. Expedited options are typically available at checkout; delivery times vary by location and carrier.

What support do you provide before and after the test?

Pre-test setup help, physician interpretation of results, and follow-up from our Respiratory Therapist. If therapy is recommended, we can coordinate CPAP and ongoing support.
