After just one night, a sleep-trained respirologist can diagnose sleep apnea based on your home sleep test results. Our respiratory therapist will then review the interpreted results with you, helping you understand what’s happening during your sleep.
Following your test, we offer a virtual consultation with a doctor as a part of our comprehensive care. Should CPAP therapy be recommended, a prescription can be provided so you can begin treatment right away.
Our Respiratory Therapist will help choose your CPAP equipment and monitor your therapy progress to ensure proper control of your sleep apnea.

After your sleep test, you can book a virtual appointment with a sleep specialist to discuss treatment options and receive a prescription for PAP therapy if desired.

Provincial Funding
It is important to note that in Ontario, the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) will currently fund a level one, polysomngraphy sleep test. These are only done in a laboratory, with additional monitoring devices. If this level of sleep study is done, the test is covered in full AND the PAP machine thereafter will be fund up to $415.
The WatchPat one is a Home Sleep Apnea Test. Unfortunately, there is no available funding in Ontario for Home Sleep Tests or the subsequent purchase of PAP equipment afterwards.
Insurance Coverage
Some insurance plans will cover the cost of your home sleep test and necessary therapy equipment while others will not. Before you make a purchase, consider checking in with your insurance provider to verify your coverage.

There's no way I would sleep in a sleep lab... anywhere I go that's not my normal routine I can't sleep the first night. At home I was still a bit anxious given it's a medical test but I did manage to sleep enough to get some data interpreted. Thanks for offering this service. Now OHIP in Ontario just needs to get on board with this test so Ontario residents can be covered if sleep apnea is diagnosed. Results were emailed in a timely fashion and customer service is great with any questions you might have.
I would recommend the home sleep apnea test for anyone concerned about their sleep. It was easy to use, the instructions easy to follow, and it gave my family doctor and specialist the information we needed to act. My appointment for a lab sleep study is a year away, so this take home version is a real help. I appreciated the consultation with Canadian CPAP equipment, who helped me get started on improving my sleep, protecting my health, and making my life better. I wish I had done this two years ago.
