Fit basics: start with loose straps, turn your device on, then tighten gently until leaks stop—over-tightening often makes leaks worse. Check the seal in your usual sleep position and re-seat the cushion as needed. Use each brand’s sizing guide; most masks include multiple cushion sizes (S/M/L). For comfort, try mask liners or a different cushion style if you notice bridge or nostril soreness. Clean cushions regularly and refresh them every 1–3 months (headgear as needed) to maintain a reliable seal. Need guidance? Which CPAP mask is best for me?

The “best CPAP mask” is the one that seals comfortably for your face and sleep style. In general: nasal pillows = minimal contact (great for side sleepers, lower pressures); nasal masks = balanced choice for nose breathers; full-face masks = best for mouth breathing, congestion, or higher pressures. How do I stop CPAP mask leaks?

Start with clean cushion and skin. Turn your device on, lie in your usual sleep position, then gently tighten headgear until leaks stop—over-tightening often worsens leaks. Re-seat the cushion if the seal whistles when you move. Replace worn cushions regularly; consider mask liners or an alternate cushion shape if you have facial hair or bridge soreness.

What size CPAP mask do I need?

Use the brand’s CPAP mask sizing guide or printable template. For nasal and full-face masks, measure from the bridge of the nose to above/below the lip; for nasal pillows, choose the smallest size that seals without irritation.

Do I need a prescription to buy a CPAP mask in Canada?

No prescription is required for CPAP masks in Canada. Prescriptions are needed for CPAP/APAP/BiLevel machines. Insurance coverage for masks varies by plan; check your benefits. (Ontario’s ADP applies to eligible devices; confirm what your plan covers for accessories.)
